AAUCM Releases 2009 Urgent Care Conference Dates

ORLANDO — The American Academy of Urgent Care Medicine (AAUCM) will hold its 2009 Urgent Care Medicine Conference Sept. 23-25, 2009, at the Coronado Bay Resort in San Diego.

The event will feature business and clinical aspects of urgent care medicine and will also focus on education and informatics. Attendees will be able to obtain continuing medical education credits, through AAUCM and the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education.

AAUCM was founded in 1997 and is an organization for physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners in the urgent care industry. According to AAUCM's Web site, AAUCM was successful in influencing the American Medical Association to accept “UCM” (urgent care medicine) as a self-designated/practice specialty code.
